day ten – barcelona to paris.
hey its carly, today we travelled from barcelona to paris….. (deeds is getting much better on planes now.)
after we struggled bying tickets in the scummy paris outskirts we caught the metro…., when submerging from the underground we arrived right in front of the arc de triomphe which we later climbed the top to discover the hazey view of paris…………and the eiffle tower…YYYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! lol. we were lucky enought to be there at the right time as there was a medal presentation and big band playing right in the middle of it.
we then walked the streets searching for a reasonably priced resteraunt…which turned out to be called the hippotomaus. ……we found that amusing.
long travelling journey home on two different trains with snap shut door that could eat your face off. haha.
looking forward to a big day tomorrow i think im gunna love it here.

Day 9 – Harley’s Birthday
Hi, it’s Harley again.
After a later start (Bree…Bonnie) we headed down town on the dreaded tram and got in a little bit of trouble for not having a ticket (we’ll just say Paul has bad eyes).
The cable car was an adventure Deidre didn’t want to be apart of it yet made here way up into the air eith sweaty palms, with a nice veiw of the ocean and marine.
As we separated into two groups Jess, Paul and myself headed to one of Gaudis famous houses, much like a fantasy wonderland. and the others went shopping at the local market and spent wonderless hours at Burger King.
I received many presents, including a pair of brown high heels that took one long walk and train ride to get to. Thank you for letting me get them, lol.
I was also very spoilt as we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, with a big mocktail and a very undercooked burger patty for Carly that ended up in the toilet bowl. Wonderful smell I’ll tell you that.
Thank-you for my gift mum, it has traveled a long way to get here.
Day 8 – Pain in Spain
Hi, it’s Harley.
Today we went to the amazing Sagrada, by Gaudi (which still has 30 years in building time to go). We climbed to the top and saw a very windy view of Spain as some of the girls walked around the markets and invested in some questionable bottle openers.
Now here is the pain part, I myself fall over, lucky I was not run over by the passing taxi however I have a fun souvenir to take home, knee scabs. Mum I always seem to fall over before my birthday.
The Tourist bus (double decker, Carly won’t let that one go) allowed us to see the sights and was a fantastic change from the public transport system.
The Picasso museum was a never ending maze that left Carly trapped in a toilet cubicle calling out for help and then mangaged to have a stranger invite themselves to her dumping party.
The dancers in the street “It’s Carnival” with a big band stopped us in our tracks as we became stuck between the forming traditional spanish circle.
“That’s fine, leave it like that” – Carly
Omg my birthday tomorrow!

Day 7: Part 2
After having a very very very very early morning, and a slow but plesant plane trip it was a relief to put our feet up and enjoy the view of barcelona, and the tv!
We had a laze about and then left the hotel to go see the sights of inner city Spain. A quick tram ride in and we were emidiently greeted with the hussle yet exotic laid back nature of the city streets. Street performers lined the pavements creating an interesting experience to the already overwelming vibe. We headed to some side streets on a mission for a cheap feed; stomachs growling. A small pub like restaurant refilled our petrol tanks and all was well until……
IT STARTED TO RAIN!!!!!!!! doom doom doom (horror struck sound FX)
yes it started to rain in spain much to our enjoyment. So we were forced to walk the streets with wet feet. We then went to the Francesc Torres Da Capo modern art museum which was a nice change from the repeditive religious art work and cathedrals we had viewed the last week. Still raining we left the museum and stopped MULTIPLE times at various shops. travelling the metro back to the motel and getting a well deserved sleep.

day 6
Big day in Milan. Got off to a slow start but checked out the fabulous designs in the famous “golden Quarter”. Found a great photography exhibition of “Wee Gees” work…great. Saw the Cathedral …. fabulous windows and amazing sculptures.
The girls managed to attract the usual amounts of attention……. all day
Every one misses all of you back home. Ciao!
day five…florence to milan
hey guys carly here hit me today that i really really do miss everyone heaps.
the train ride to milan was very long but we copped considerably well considering my ipod was dead lol. the italian country side was beautiful we went through many tunnels which was very dark.
milan is not what i expected its much like melbourne not as pretty as rome or florence. We visited the duomo but quickly made our way over to one of the most expensive and uncomfortable places weve been….jess and i headed into prada, gucci and louis vuiton we were actally allowed in considering we were wearing thongs hahaha. prices way over our limit but it was nice to look. went to the supermarket and brought snacks for dinner……(yes yes mum your fave) as opposed to eating out. looking forward to another day of shopping tomorrow and maybe some art hahaha just kidding….NOT! oh what do you expect of girls.
oh and it is fashion week here in milan.
xoxo.// kisses for everyone
day four florence
first morning of waking up at hotel california!
got up and waited in line at the academy to see the famous michaelangelo’s sculpture of “david” after a long hour or so wait in a queue!! got in there and realised that we werent allowed to take photos, but knowing me i had to get a shot of that toosh!! haha deidre… he was rather out of proportion..
from there we went across the ponte-vecchio (river) an it was lovely. the sun was kind of setting at the time so it gave a nice glow over the city.
We did intense shopping at the leather market and then met up with paul bree and bon at the hotel to make our way down to the Uffizzi gallery which holds the painting of the “birth of venus” by bottecelli. it was so hard to find an actual brush stoke on the canvas without the beeper going off for going too close haha
revisited the restaurant from the night before with the waiter who was a character and a half!
sad to be leaving florence but theres plenty more to look forward to!
ciao
